Our Projects
We are currently working on projects ranging from replanting neglected ornamental flowerbeds to creating community vegetable plots to the hardscaping of a childrens play area.
All the work is carried out by volunteers, working in two main teams, and is scheduled to fit within school hours making our project accessible to lone parents or those with child care issues. We undertake a variety of iniatives to ensure that our learners are exposed to a range of options - giving them the opportunity to work on projects suitable to their health or personal preference.
Our clients also benefit from classroom sessions demonstrations of the safe use of machinery and PPE equipment, and the planning and design of gardens with restricted budgets/conditions.
As well as the hard skills and real world work experience, the NWG courses provide a plethora of the transferable soft skills that employers demand. Our clients learn the importance of courtesy, common sense and critical thinking, discipline and motivation; and learn to be both a valuable and reliable member of a team and an honest and cooperative self-starter. We stress the necessity for "Ability, Attitude and Accountability" as life and work skills..
